Control of fingering instability by vibrations

چکیده

In applications involving the injection of a fluid in porous medium to displace another fluid, main objective is maximization displacement efficiency. Displacement fronts moving media are subjected hydrodynamic instability when liquid low viscosity displaces high-viscosity and consequently finger-like structure forms along interface. This finger usually undesirable technical natural filtration processes. We discuss external periodic forcing as one promising ways control perform numerical simulation an initially spherical drop under vertical vibrations. The favorable object study since this case can observe effect vibrations on interface domains inclined by different angles with respect vibration axis. It shown that small-scale perturbations suppressed large enough intensity becomes stable. stability criterion derived.
